"MV AMPs"
An acquaintance and I were having a conversation many months ago about his apartment in MV and he happened to tell me about some interesting sights from his bedroom window. His bedroom window overlooks into another apartment window across the parking lot and from it he says that he sees at some at least several hot looking Asian women walking around in the nude (many of them smoke and so they happen never to close their windows or shades). The interesting thing is that he says that he sees different girls from time to time and they also like to try on different sexy dresses and clothes. I guess he never figured out what the deal was (duh). My own speculation is that these were women working either out of their apartment or were staying there while working at the local AMPs. He says that they moved out late last year. When I probed for a more specific time frame, I found out that it was around the same time that Niagra was shutdown. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not.

More irony: My significant other was called into jury duty today in Palo Alto for a local court case which turns out to be the case for the madam who ran Niagra. Unfortunately, my significant other didn't get selected. Otherwise I could've gotten a lot of insider information about what the LE community know about the local AMPs.

I think the court cases are public, so if you have time you could probably sit in on the case anyway.

where is the case being heard at? Not too difficult to get transcripts.

It's at the Superior Court - Palo Alto Facility (270 Grant Ave.) Not too far from Fry's Electronics.

Additional trivia: The madam running the joint turns out to be Chinese (Mandarin speaking) and cannot speak any English. They had a translator at the courthouse. Kinda makes me wonder how she communicates with the non-chinese staff (mostly Korean).

Speaking of which, does anyone know what ever happended to the owners of M&A in Cupertino. See http://www.metroactive.com/papers/cupertino.courier/03.22.00/prostitution-0012.html

They were the ones with the hidden video cameras, so I am cheering for the LE on this one, for a change.

There are quite a number of small operations in apartments, maybe that is what your friend saw. In MV, if they get visible and they do FS, it's just a matter of time. If HJ/BJ only, they don't seem to attract as much attention and run for years. It's so common it doesn't really attract much attention, unless a big shot like Jerry Rice is caught in it (at MV spa, maybe 2 years ago). Niagra had mostly Korean workers, and may have gotten special attention because the Canadian RMP was investigating illegal immigration of Korean sex workers to the US via Canada. I believe they are tied to gangs, who "control" the ladies and give some protection from robbery in return for a cut - another reason for police attention. Royal, another Korean place, was busted later from that effort. I don't think they got much for their trouble, that place was really busy and they only found a little cash, as I recall.

You can attend most trials if there is sitting room. Usually it's extremely slow and boring. Unless this case gets headlines again, you probably won't find more than 5-10 in the audience. The madam will probably play the No English game to the max for sympathy with the jury, I saw this from the jury trial of an Asian MD. He passed his boards in English, but claimed to have poor command of the language and used an interpreter. Right!

I doubt the trial will reveal much about the methods of investigation that aren't obvious. I assume it goes like this for an obvious house: residents complain, ads are noted in native language newspapers, a surveilance is done which shows suspicious activity, a wired undercover cop is sent in and is solicited, bang! In the case of Royal, I wonder how they got evidence, Royal was super paranoid. Maybe "Follow the money", as Deep Throat once said? Sometimes the police just park outside and watch the johns, the harassment can slow business. The owner gets the message and closes down, and the girls move across town to the next venue.

Here in the US we're so funny about this, but we're not alone. In Tokyo, prostitution is illegal, but... After dark you will see thousands of colorful little postit photo ads stuck on phone booths, fences, every street in hotel districts. If you speak Japanese, you can call and do incall, or for a longer date use little "romance hotels" that charge by the hour. What is wierd is all these Postits are put up in the evening, and removed before morning as if they never were. Its a huge industry. Everyone pretends it doesn't exist.

Are you sure that the trial is relating to the Niagra matter? I am pretty sure that the Madam from Niagra was a strictly Korean place, not Chinese...

What i am thinking this might be the Laser Tanning Madam matter? She is definitely mandarin speaking and the place was Chinese run...

How are you sure it was "Niagra" as opposed to some other establishment?

Just curious... I'd be interested in finding out the outcome and the evidence presented...

Poohster, you are correct. I just confirmed with my significant other that the woman on trial wasn't the madam after all but one of the girls. However, she was speaking Mandarin through a translator for sure. Also, the AMP the she worked at was indeed Niagra as that information was disclosed at the jury selection. I suppose if you want to know more, Yellow Hammer did mention also that anyone can get a transcript.

I wonder if it's Jackie. She is Chinese-Malaysian. Saw her at Niagara around a year ago. She took care of the non-Asian customers.

12. "naming conventions"
often times when a new girl shows up they will work on a name...rin sounds like lynn so either ling (for lingling-monkey) or jackie for jeeez dont know how to spell jacquleen...you get the picture...other times after a popular girl has moved on a new girl will take that name, so when someone calls and asks for sasha sasha is there, Tht name will stick once the customer base is established...sorry to kidnap the thread....

I know, for years guys would post looking for a Korean girl named Hannah at one of my favorite AMPs.

If I had $1.00 for every time I let them know that her name was Hana! . . . . .

...and she used to work at Niagra.

Unlike many AMP ladies, her English is very good. She has a greencard, she claims.

ANd, by the way, she has good reviews.
